about

I laugh when I have to give a description of myself or my family- because our story is crazy & never ever what we'd ever dreamed it would be, and it has the Lord stamped all over it. When my husband and I got married just seven short years ago, we were not thinking "lets have loads of kids and foster and adopt and move to the country and teach our kids at home and find the Lord and strive to serve him". But his plans totally outdid ours, and that is exactly what happened!

I'm married to a computer nerd & we live in the country with our (currently) seven children. In 2013 we decided to let God rock our world, and he brought our two newest sons into our family via adoption from Uganda, a journey that sometimes feels like it's just beginning a year later. Because our family expanded so quickly, not usually as often as our budget, I became big on finding ways to save money and have a big family. I started up a little group on facebook called "Food Diaries of a Large Family" that quickly grew to a few hundred Mom's all seeking and giving ideas, advice, and recipes about how to feed our ever expanding families without breaking the bank. I love that group & have been prayerfully making plans to expand it beyond our little facebook venue. But for now I'm just a Mom who loves the Lord, is absolutely imperfect and striving to choose joy throughout our days with "a little of iced coffee and a whole lot of Jesus".
